Lee Hurst — known online as Helpful Lee — is a digital analyst in the United States and the author of Hands On With Google Data Studio (Wiley, 2020), one of the first books on the tool from a major publisher. His tagline, “from analysis to action,” captures his focus: helping small businesses and agencies actually use their reports, not just build them.
In 2017 he created the Data Studio Resource Finder — a free, searchable library of hundreds of reviewed templates, tutorials and examples, built inside Data Studio itself and featured in Google’s official report gallery. He also builds practical utilities in the tool, like a small-business site troubleshooter.
Unusually for a well-known voice in the space, he does all of this alongside a full-time role as a senior digital analyst — so his teaching comes from daily in-house practice rather than consulting alone.
